Researchers at the University of Gothenburg have drawn inspiration from the movement of the "inchworm" to create a fully flexible robot that contains no rigid parts and operates through a mechanism that mimics the natural contraction of muscles.
This miniature robot, which is no thicker than a strand of human hair, is composed of alternating layers of polymer and carbon electrodes. The innovation is distinguished by an exceptional capacity for endurance.
