Technical leaks have revealed near-complete specifications for Samsung Electronics' next generation of foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Fold series, which is expected to be officially launched in mid-July, amid reports that the South Korean giant plans to release an additional, larger variant under the name "Fold Ultra".

According to leaked data circulated on technology platforms, the standard version of the new handset will weigh 201 grams, with dimensions of 123.9 × 81.9 × 9.7 mm when folded, changing to 123.9 × 161.4 × 4.5 mm when fully opened. The indicators suggest that Samsung is seeking to expand its foldable family with the anticipated Fold Ultra model, which is expected to feature larger dimensions — making the regular Fold's measurements this year closer to those of the Fold 7 released last year.

On the display front, Samsung has equipped the phone with Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The main unfolded display measures 7.6 inches with QHD+ resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio, while the outer cover screen measures 5.5 inches with the same resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Regarding internal performance, the leaked documents indicate that the company is relying on Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor in a Galaxy-dedicated version manufactured using 3-nanometre technology, backed by 12GB of RAM. The company will offer the device in multiple storage options including 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

The leaks also included updates to the camera system; the phone carries 2 rear cameras at 50 megapixels each — the first a wide main lens with an F1.8 aperture, and the second an ultra-wide lens with an F1.9 aperture. The phone also features 2 dedicated selfie and video-call cameras at 10 megapixels each with an F2.2 aperture, one mounted on the outer cover and the other embedded in the inner display.

The new phone runs on a 4,800mAh battery, with support for Samsung's advanced fast-charging technologies via Super Fast Charging 2.0 and Fast Wireless Charging 2.0.

Samsung has not officially commented on these leaks, but analysts expect the group's press conference in mid-July to settle the debate surrounding its plans to compete with rising Chinese devices in the flexible smartphone market, particularly the strategy concerning the new Ultra model.
