The Royal Palace has announced that King Felipe VI of Spain will attend his country's match in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, scheduled for Sunday in East Rutherford, on the outskirts of New York. The Royal Palace said: "All four will go," referring to King Felipe VI, his wife Queen Letizia, and their two daughters, Princesses Leonor and Sofía.

Spain reached its second final in history after defeating France 2-0, and will face the winner of the match between defending champions Argentina and England. King Felipe had previously attended the group stage third-round match between Spain and Uruguay, which Spain won 1-0, held in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Spain hopes to win the world title for the second time in its history, after the first in 2010 in South Africa, when it defeated the Netherlands 1-0 in the final. During its first title 16 years ago, Spain was European champion having won the continental title in 2008, and it will enter Sunday's final as European champion once again, having lifted the trophy two years ago in Germany.
