Harry Kane continued his march towards the top of the all-time England appearances list after featuring for the national team in their round-of-eight clash against Norway on Saturday evening local time at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Kane started the match, which is being held in the American city of Miami, making his 120th appearance for England and drawing level with retired star Wayne Rooney in second place on the all-time list.

Kane now stands just 5 games short of matching former goalkeeper Peter Shilton, the all-time record holder for England appearances.

Kane had scored 85 goals in 119 appearances for the team before the Norway match, making him England's all-time leading scorer by a margin of 32 goals ahead of his nearest pursuer, Rooney.

Kane, who has scored 6 goals at the current World Cup, is aiming to lead England into the semi-finals of the tournament — currently being held across the United States, Mexico, and Canada — where they would face the winner of the Argentina versus Switzerland match.
