The Spain vs Belgium quarter-final match at the FIFA World Cup, currently being held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, saw rising star Lamine Yamal start in the lineup for coach Luis de la Fuente's side.
Spain's Lamine Yamal became the third-youngest player in history to appear in a World Cup quarter-final, at the age of 18 years and 362 days.
Yamal, who is making his first-ever World Cup appearance, finished behind the late Brazilian legend Pelé — who played against Wales in the quarter-finals of the 1958 World Cup at the age of 17 years and 239 days — and Moroccan midfielder Ayoub El Aynaoui, who featured for his country in the quarter-finals of the current tournament against France at the age of 18 years and 280 days.
Spain are aiming to overcome Belgium and advance to the semi-finals, where they would face France, the first side to qualify for the last four, following their 2-0 victory over Morocco.
