Moroccan international star Soufiane Rahimi, Al Ain's forward, is writing an exceptional football epic in the history of the modern game. Having already broken the 700-day barrier of continuous action without a break between Al Ain and the Atlas Lions, he is now preparing to extend this extraordinary physical feat to 1,100 days without a holiday by the end of the 2026–27 season. This remarkable endurance places the Moroccan striker in a category of his own — a footballer who defies fatigue, forges glory, and stands as a model of the consummate professional capable of enduring back-to-back gruelling seasons while maintaining a relentless and astonishing scoring output.

A marathon chain

This marathon chain began for Rahimi in the summer of 2024 with the start of preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The total consecutive days he will have spent without a break or passive rest is expected to reach approximately 1,100 — roughly 3 full years — by the end of the 2026–27 season. After surpassing the 740-consecutive-day mark when the curtain falls on the current FIFA World Cup in July 2026, the Moroccan star will plunge directly, without drawing breath, into Al Ain's pre-season camp, launching a new campaign that includes three domestic competitions as well as the AFC Champions League Elite, alongside his international commitments in FIFA windows with the Atlas Lions.

Dominant presence

Soufiane Rahimi had already achieved an unprecedented historic feat with the Moroccan Olympic team at Paris 2024, when he helped the Atlas Lions claim the bronze medal and personally won the title of all-time top scorer of the tournament with 8 goals. He was also an influential presence in Morocco's squad at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, continuing an illustrious international career that had previously seen him win the Africa Cup of Nations for local players for a record third time in the Atlas Lions' history, earning both the top scorer and best player awards at that tournament with 5 goals. These successes have reinforced his international standing, which reached a new peak at the 2026 World Cup, where he made his first World Cup mark by scoring one goal and creating another against Haiti to officially lead Morocco into the knockout rounds.

Tactical flexibility

On the domestic and continental front with Al Ain, Rahimi has continued to shine thanks to his high tactical flexibility, which allows him to play as an outright striker or an attacking winger. After leading Al Ain to the AFC Champions League title and being crowned both top scorer and best player on the continent with 13 goals — in addition to winning the ADNOC Pro League and the President's Cup — the player continued to deliver outstanding performances in the 2025–26 season, appearing in 24 matches across all competitions in which he scored 16 goals and created 6 more, maintaining a high performance rating.

In appreciation of this boundless contribution, and to protect him from the ambitions of European and Asian clubs, Al Ain's management moved swiftly to renew his contract officially until 2028, ensuring the continuation of this tireless Moroccan scoring machine within the walls of Al Ain.
