The match between the Saudi and Spanish national teams at the 2026 FIFA World Cup achieved the highest viewership rating in the Middle East and North Africa region.

FIFA's media centre, via its official account on X, noted that the Saudi Arabia vs Spain match recorded the highest viewership figures in the tournament so far, with more than 65 million viewers in the Middle East and North Africa watching through beIN Sports channels.

FIFA added that overall television viewership data will be published after the conclusion of the tournament, which is being held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Saudi national team was eliminated from the 2026 World Cup in the group stage, finishing bottom of Group 8 with 2 points, behind Uruguay in third place on goal difference.

Al-Akhdar, coached by Herve Renard's successor Georgios Donis, began their World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Uruguay, before losing 4-0 to Spain, and then drawing 0-0 with Cape Verde, who qualified for the knockout rounds in their first ever World Cup appearance.
