The FIFA Sound project and the official album of the 2026 World Cup have achieved remarkable success since the tournament's launch, with its songs topping the most-listened-to and most-watched charts on digital platforms — a development that reflects the growing fusion of football, music, and entertainment.
The tournament's opening ceremonies featured a lineup of the world's most prominent music stars, whose combined followings across digital platforms exceed 1 billion people, helping to amplify the global reach of the official tournament album.
Songs including Shakira and Burna Boy's "Dae Dae", "DNA" — featuring Andrea Bocelli, David Guetta, Megan Thee Stallion, and AJ — as well as "Gym Time" by Future and Tyla, all appeared in Shazam's global top 200 chart, while "Gym Time" ranked 4th among the most circulated songs of the week, according to FIFA's website.
The official 2026 World Cup album has amassed 336 million streams since its release, and ranked 3rd on Spotify's best new albums chart during the period from 5 to 7 June. "Dae Dae" continues to perform strongly, featuring among the platform's top 50 most popular songs.
On YouTube, the 19 songs and clips from the album surpassed a combined 364 million views, with "Dae Dae" and "Champions" by content creator and singer IShowSpeed topping the global top 100 music videos chart for the week.
The success of FIFA Sound extended beyond music streaming platforms, as 137 video clips from the tournament's opening ceremonies garnered approximately 463 million views, while exclusive footage and behind-the-scenes posts brought fans closer to the atmosphere of the global event.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino affirmed that World Cup fan celebrations are not confined to the stands, but extend to singing, dancing, and engaging with music, noting that the tremendous success of the FIFA Sound project confirms that the tournament has become a global celebration uniting football, music, and culture.
