After scoring two goals against Iraq, Norwegian striker Erling Haaland went incognito to explore the sights of New York with his partner, during a well-earned break from the FIFA World Cup.
The 25-year-old, wearing a light-coloured baseball cap and dark sunglasses, posted photos with Isabel Haugseng Johansen at Times Square and outside the famous Katz's Deli on social media, while New Yorkers appeared not to realise that one of the world's most famous footballers was among them.
Haaland wrote on Snapchat: "To be honest, hiding my hair helps," referring to his well-known long blonde locks, which he usually ties in a bun during matches.
Haaland scored twice in Norway's commanding 4-1 victory over Iraq in their first World Cup match in 28 years, and was then given two days of rest before facing Senegal, who opened their Group 9 campaign with a 3-1 defeat to France.
Norway and Senegal meet at New York/New Jersey Stadium on 22 June, and Norwegian coach Ståle Solbakken said he was very pleased to give his players a few days to rest and relax with friends and family.
Solbakken added: "Everyone needs a short break. Players benefit from clearing their heads a little, and getting away from me and the others."
