The United States rounded off the series of opening ceremonies for the FIFA World Cup, after Mexico and Canada each held their own ceremonies ahead of their respective opening matches in the tournament, which is co-hosted by the three nations from June 11 to July 19.

The opening ceremony for the 2026 World Cup got under way with spectacular artistic performances ahead of the host nation's opening match against Paraguay in Los Angeles.

The ceremony officially began with a drum performance, heralding the start of the United States' World Cup opening celebrations.

The show featured a distinctive drumline display before Future and Tyga took to the stage to perform their song "Game Time".

Lisa, Anita and Rema closed the ceremony with their global hit "Goals", which blends Latin pop, K-pop and Afrobeats, as part of the official World Cup album, according to the British newspaper The Independent.

Katy Perry performed "Wonder" during the parade of teams and immediately before kick-off, accompanied by a young boy named Teus, who originally recorded the song with her.
