The summer player transfer window — the summer mercato — opens on Monday and runs until 28 September, amid intensive preparations by clubs to seal quality deals that bolster their ranks ahead of the start of the 2026–2027 season.

ADNOC Pro League clubs have moved early in the transfer market, seeking to attract the best possible talent to compete across all competitions, while simultaneously working to renew the contracts of key players and restructure certain positions in line with the technical vision of their coaching staffs. Fans are eagerly awaiting further deals that could shape the contours of competition in the coming season.

Al Ain announced the signing of 3 players: Serbian defender Đorđe Škoko, 23, arriving from Serbian club Javor Matis Ivanjica; Austrian winger Valentino Lazaro, 30, arriving from Italian side Torino; and Cameroonian striker Baba Iyllo, 21, arriving from Moroccan club Renaissance Berkane.

Sharjah continued its activity in the transfer market by completing 4 deals: Brazilian winger Guilherme Júnior, 25, from Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense; Congolese midfielder Charles Pickel, 28, on a two-season contract from Spanish club Espanyol; Cape Verde international defender Dény Burges, 30, on a two-season deal from Al Bataeh; and Brazilian playmaker Agnyer Mora, 21, on a two-season contract from Fluminense.

Al Jazira strengthened its squad by signing left back Rubén Cañedo, 24, from Al Wahda on a three-season contract, and Angolan winger Felício Milson, 26, from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade on a three-year contract.

Khor Fakkan bolstered its ranks with Jamaican winger Junior Flemmings, 30, arriving from Ajman, alongside loans for Ivorian duo Adama Diallo, 23, and Ngoussian Jean, 22, from Al Wasl until the end of the season.

Emirates United completed only one deal so far, signing Yemeni midfielder Adel Wajdan, 26, from Fujairah on a two-season contract.

Kalba signed Egyptian defender Abdullah Al Rifai, 30, from Khor Fakkan, and also recruited winger Antonio Júnior, 26, from Al Nasr on a three-season contract.

Al Wasl was among the most active clubs, announcing the signing of 6 players: goalkeeper Abdulrahman Al Ameri, 28, from Al Jazira; midfielder Yahya Nader, 27, from Al Ain; defender Saša Iković, 33, from Al Wahda; striker Leandro Leit, 26, from Kalba; French goalkeeper Yann Lahona, 19, from French club Angers; and Nigerian midfielder Ridwan Bobola, 19, from Hungarian club Kisvárda.

Al Wahda announced the signing of winger Asher Agbinone, 20, from Crystal Palace; Paraguayan goalkeeper Facundo Insfrán, 20, from Olimpia; and Venezuelan right back Reny Rivas, 23, from Saudi club Al Taawon. Al Nasr signed Moroccan winger Nassim El Chadli, 24, on a one-season loan from Al Ain.

Ajman continued to strengthen its squad by signing Brazilian midfielder Victor Hugo, 22, on a one-season deal from Saudi club Al Taawon; left back Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, 30, from Al Bataeh; and goalkeeper Abdullah Al Tamimi, 33, in a free transfer from Al Nasr.

As the new season approaches, attention turns to the deals that the coming weeks will bring, with ADNOC Pro League clubs continuing to address their technical requirements before the summer transfer window closes on 28 September, hoping to enter the new season in the best possible shape.
