Quattro Sports Centre in Ajman held the first coordination meeting of the organising committee as part of preparations for the launch of the ninth edition of the Gulf Academies Football Festival, 'Gulf Quattro 2026', scheduled to take place in the emirate of Ajman from 2 to 10 July.

The meeting was held within the framework of early preparations for the Gulf sporting event, which is held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, with broad participation from academies and sports teams from across the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in a competitive sporting atmosphere bringing together brotherly nations of the region.

During the meeting, the organising committee discussed the administrative and technical aspects of the tournament, the mechanism for receiving participating teams, the match schedule, and accompanying events, in addition to media coverage plans and live broadcasting arrangements, all aimed at delivering a distinguished edition befitting the event's stature and its growing Gulf-wide presence.

The festival includes a football academies tournament across 3 age categories — under-16, under-14, and under-12 — with participation from academies representing the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, and Iraq. It also features a range of accompanying sports programmes and events, most notably a football skills tournament, an electronic gaming tournament (PlayStation), an accredited training course for coaches and administrators, and a Gulf dialogue forum attended by a selection of Gulf sports stars.

The tournament's organising committee, chaired by General Supervisor Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Mushref, reaffirmed its commitment to delivering an exceptional ninth edition of the tournament by continuing to develop the event and consolidate its standing as one of the most prominent Gulf sports platforms dedicated to discovering and honing promising talent, and to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation among participating academies from across the region.

The tournament's supreme committee for this edition includes a selection of organisational expertise: Salem Khalfan serves as tournament director, Ahmed Fadel oversees the media committee, Ahmed Hassan Al Sayed supervises the logistics committee, and Mubarak Mohsen heads the finance committee. Abdulrahman Awad serves as deputy supervisor of the chaperones committee, while Ahmed Al Safi oversees the tournament's live coverage — all contributing to delivering a sporting and organisational event that meets the highest professional standards.
