Kalba Sports and Cultural Club has launched its community initiative 'Be Ready… Fitness and Future' as part of the 'Be Athletic' initiative, in the framework of its efforts to promote a community sports culture and consolidate its role in developing young people and preparing them physically and behaviourally for the next stage of their lives.

The initiative targets 70 young men from secondary school graduates in the city of Kalba through a four-week programme that includes specialised sports training, awareness workshops, and activities that foster a spirit of discipline and teamwork, contributing to a positive use of the post-graduation period that enhances health, fitness, and self-confidence.

The programme is built around 4 main pillars: enhancing physical fitness and general health; instilling values of commitment, responsibility, and respect for time; spreading a culture of sport as a way of life; and channelling young people's energies into purposeful programmes that prepare them for university and working life, building a generation that is more aware, confident, and capable of serving its community and nation.

Abdullah Al Balushi, a member of the board of directors of Kalba Sports and Cultural Club and director of individual sports, affirmed that the initiative embodies the club's community mission of investing in people before sporting achievement.

He said: "The 'Be Ready… Fitness and Future' initiative stems from our belief that the post-secondary stage represents an important milestone in young people's lives, and it is our duty to provide them with a motivating environment that helps them invest this period in developing their physical fitness, enhancing their discipline and self-confidence, and acquiring healthy habits that stay with them throughout the various stages of their lives."

Al Balushi added: "Through this programme we seek to entrench the concept that sport is not a seasonal activity but a way of life, and we are keen to reinforce Kalba Club's role as an active community partner in preparing the city's youth and building a generation that enjoys health, awareness, and discipline, and is capable of contributing to the renaissance of its nation."

Participants receive, upon completion of the programme, an officially accredited certificate of participation from Kalba Sports and Cultural Club, after completing the four-week integrated training and awareness programme. The initiative falls within Kalba Sports and Cultural Club's programmes aimed at achieving its first strategic objective of 'promoting community sports culture', and embodies its motto 'We build bodies… we create the future', reaffirming the club's mission to build a healthier and more active community and channel young people's energies into sustainable development pathways.
