The UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation organised the 'Galaxy Run Club' initiative, the first community running event at Dubai Marina Walk, with the participation of 55 male and female runners of various ages and fitness levels. The event saw participation from families, running enthusiasts, beginners, and experienced athletes, as well as youth participants aged over 10 years, as part of an initiative aimed at encouraging members of the community to adopt more active and healthy lifestyles.

The event kicked off at 6:30 a.m. following warm-up exercises and briefings for participants before they set off along the Dubai Marina Walk running route. Participants were divided into 3 groups according to distances of 3 kilometres, 5 kilometres, and 7 kilometres, allowing everyone to take part according to their physical abilities and different fitness levels, in an open community atmosphere. The event also included awareness activities related to general health, nutrition, and physical recovery, alongside the use of technologies to help participants track their physical activity levels and athletic performance.

Ahmed Jawhar, a board member of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, affirmed that the initiative is part of the federation's efforts to broaden the base of sports participation and enhance community involvement in physical activities, stressing the importance of providing open sporting environments that encourage different age groups to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Ahmed Jawhar noted that the turnout witnessed at the first event reflects the growing interest in community sport, and confirms the importance of initiatives that combine physical activity with social interaction. The Galaxy Run Club sessions are scheduled to continue weekly every Saturday at Dubai Marina, with expansion to other locations across the country's various emirates being considered in the coming period.
