German broadcaster Sky Deutschland has reported that Austrian defender Konrad Laimer has extended his contract with Bayern Munich after a lengthy period of negotiations. The 29-year-old player, who is currently participating with his country in the World Cup and won the domestic double with Bayern Munich, agreed to renew his contract for two additional years, extending it until 30 June 2029.

An announcement is expected soon. His original contract was due to expire in 2027. Laimer, who can play in midfield and joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2023, made 47 appearances for Bayern Munich last season, scoring 3 goals and creating 9. Negotiations had lasted six months, with Bayern reportedly taken aback by the player's high financial demands, but a deal now appears to have been reached.
