National coach Ibrahim Issa Al Amiri, technical director of the first handball team at Malikah Club, has concluded his participation in a summer training camp hosted by Croatia from 4 to 11 July, which brought together around 100 male and female players from various age groups in a specialised training programme focused on the latest technical and physical preparation methods and performance development in line with modern European curricula.
Al Amiri's participation forms part of a consistent approach he has adopted for years, built on a sustained commitment to attending courses, training camps, and technical immersions both inside and outside the country. This stems from his conviction that developing the coach is one of the most important factors in developing the game, and that investing in the qualification of national cadres is directly reflected in the level of players, clubs, and national teams.
Ibrahim Al Amiri affirmed that engaging with international expertise and keeping abreast of the latest coaching schools gives a coach a broader vision and more advanced tools in the areas of planning, preparation, and match management. He noted that every overseas experience represents an opportunity to acquire new knowledge that can be transferred and applied on UAE handball courts, contributing to raising the technical level of the game.
Al Amiri added that his overseas participation is not limited to training camps, but also includes field visits and technical immersions with a number of European clubs, among them German clubs, which strengthens his practical experience and keeps pace with the rapid development that world handball is witnessing. He stressed that continuous learning has become a necessity for every coach who seeks to achieve success and make a difference.
At the close of the camp, Ibrahim Al Amiri presented a commemorative shield bearing the Malikah Club emblem to the organising body, where it was received by Captain Dinko Janković and Croatian international player Luka Cindrić, a star of Hungarian club Veszprém, in appreciation of their efforts in organising the camp and in fostering sports cooperation and the exchange of expertise.
Al Amiri extended his thanks and appreciation to Mohammed Sultan Al Khassouni, chairman of the board of Malikah Cultural and Sports Club, for renewing his confidence in him to lead the first handball team during the 2026–2027 sporting season. He affirmed that this trust represents a great responsibility and a motivation to continue developing his technical capabilities, and to harness the experience and international knowledge he acquires in the service of Malikah Club and in support of the UAE handball journey, enriching it with the best modern coaching practices.
