Dubai World Cup champion Magnitude added a new global achievement to his record by winning the Grade 1 Stephen Foster Stakes over 1,800 metres at Churchill Downs in the United States, securing a direct berth in the Breeders' Cup Classic.

The Dubai World Cup champion imposed his authority from start to finish under jockey José Ortiz, recording a time of 1:48.03, beating Baiza by a length and a quarter, while Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty, representing Godolphin, finished third.

Godolphin's Amersaif also shone on the same track, opening the card with a fine victory in the Grade 2 Fleur de Lis Stakes, a race restricted to fillies and mares over 1,800 metres, ridden by Irad Ortiz Jr. and trained by Brad Cox, recording a time of 1:50.51.

Trainer Steve Asmussen said that "Magnitude is an exceptional horse, and after his victory over Forever Young in the Dubai World Cup, he returned today to outclass the elite of American racing."
