Egypt and Bahrain have secured their places in the final of the 23rd Arab Youth Basketball Championship, currently being held in Tunisia, after defeating Libya and Morocco respectively on Wednesday in the fourth round. Both teams raised their tally to 8 points from 4 consecutive wins. They are scheduled to meet in the final preliminary-round fixture today, though the result will not affect their qualification for the final on Saturday.

Bahrain defeated Morocco by 25 points (73/48) in the last round, dominating all four quarters 14/9, 24/16, 19/8 and 16/13. Bahraini player Hakim top-scored with 18 points. In the second match, Egypt — record holders with 12 titles — defeated Libya 60/38, with quarter scores of 15/13, 22/10, 11/9 and 12/6. Egyptian player Ram Magdy scored 22 points.

In the third match, Tunisia defeated Algeria 63/55. In the women's championship, Algeria defeated Morocco by a single point, 48/47.
