Egypt's Al Ahly have completed all agreements for the official signing of Moroccan coach Hussain Ammouta to take charge of the team from the start of the 2026–2027 season, with only a few final touches remaining on the administrative and logistical sides, as well as the names of his support staff — particularly as he made it a condition that he choose his own backroom team, a demand that Al Ahly's management accepted, while putting forward the names of some former club stars who enjoy widespread trust among the club's large fanbase.

Hussain Ammouta had shown flexibility in his negotiations with Al Ahly, declining to raise his financial demands in order to commit to a strong sporting project that would return the «Club of the Century» to the winner's podium, making clear that he would not accept interference in his work, particularly regarding decisions on player departures as well as the selection of new signings.

An Al Ahly delegation had already arrived in Morocco in recent hours to complete the final procedures for the deal with the Moroccan coach ahead of an official announcement in the coming days, after all details relating to the coach, his technical staff, and the scheduled start date of pre-season preparations for the new season are finalised.
