The General Command of Dubai Civil Defence participated in the 'Dubai Mowathlon' initiative, which was launched under the directives and patronage of General Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai. The initiative aims to transform shopping centres across the emirate into sports tracks for walking and running during the summer season.

Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Commander-General of Dubai Civil Defence, stated: "The participation of Civil Defence personnel today is an extension of their continuous participation since the launch of the 'Dubai Mowathlon' initiative across the various approved shopping centres within the initiative, affirming the importance that the General Command of Dubai Civil Defence attaches to adopting a healthy and active lifestyle, and entrenching a culture of sport as a way of life. This participation also affirms that physical fitness is a fundamental pillar for firefighters, contributing to the enhancement of their efficiency and physical readiness, which is reflected in their ability to carry out their field duties with competence and capability."
