Khor Fakkan Disability Club claimed 15 medals at the conclusion of the 2026 Czech International Grand Prix para athletics championship, comprising 3 gold, 8 silver, and 4 bronze medals. The championship featured elite male and female athletes from countries around the world, with its closing competitions held on Wednesday evening including shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw.
Abdullah Saleh Al Naqbi, chairman of the club's board of directors, said the achievement was a crowning tribute to the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for athletes with disabilities, and His Highness's commitment to empowering them and providing the sporting environment that enhances their capabilities and opens before them horizons of excellence and achievement.
Dr Louay Saeed Allay, vice-chairman of the board of directors, noted that the results achieved are an extension of an institutional approach of strategic planning and investment in developing athletes' capabilities through advanced training and rehabilitation programmes, and by providing the best technical and administrative staff, thereby strengthening the players' readiness to represent the United Arab Emirates with distinction in regional and international championships.
