Magdalena Arda of Abu Dhabi Athletics Club won gold in the 80-metre race for the under-14 girls category with a time of 9.93 seconds at the international championship currently being held in Sweden. The Abu Dhabi club athlete broke the national record in this category, which had stood at 10.48 seconds since 2020, following an outstanding performance on Wednesday evening in a race featuring an elite field of competitors.
Khaled Rashid Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Athletics Club, affirmed that the achievement reflects the success of the club's talent development programmes and underscores the sustained efforts of its technical and administrative staff in developing male and female athletes and enabling them to compete at the international level.
Al Zaabi extended his thanks to the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for their ongoing support, which contributes to achieving such accomplishments and building a strong base of champions to represent the United Arab Emirates at international sporting events.
