The International Vision for Sports Management Group (IVSM) has signed a memorandum of understanding with EDGE Group, one of the world's leading advanced technology and defence groups, to strengthen efforts to promote jiu-jitsu at the global level through the sponsorship of tournaments organised and hosted by the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro League (AJP), one of IVSM's subsidiary companies.
The announcement came during a press conference held at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Abdul Munem Al Hashemi, President of the UAE and Asian jiu-jitsu federations, First Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and Chairman of IVSM, and Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of EDGE Group.
The memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation between the two sides within a strategic partnership that includes EDGE Group's sponsorship of the IVSM tournament series in Latin America, as well as sponsorship of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, which are among the largest and most prominent global competitions organised by IVSM, attracting elite athletes from countries around the world.
The partnership is an extension of both parties' efforts to support UAE sport and enhance its presence on the international stage by investing in major sporting events and cementing jiu-jitsu's standing as one of the world's leading sports — reflecting the UAE's vision of building quality partnerships between the sports and industrial sectors.
Abdul Munem Al Hashemi affirmed that the partnership with EDGE Group represents a qualitative addition to IVSM's journey and reflects the growing confidence that IVSM tournaments enjoy among major national institutions.
