Emirati player Ammar Mohammed Al Sadrani, a member of the national team and Fujairah Chess and Culture Club, has claimed gold at the Arab Chess Championship and won the President's Cup 3 consecutive times. He also ranked among the top 50 chess players at the 2024 Chess Olympiad, cementing a prominent international presence across the various local and international tournaments he participates in. He affirmed that such competitions help support young Emirati talents and provide them with opportunities to gain experience and compete at advanced levels.

Al Sadrani told Al Bayan: "I received the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award in 2017, and that in itself was an incentive for me to continue my sporting excellence, in light of our wise leadership's support for spreading a culture of creativity in sports and honouring achievers for their accomplishments, as well as motivating all those working in the sports sector to elevate their performance from achievement to creativity." He added: "I won the Arab Championship for 4 consecutive years in the UAE, Jordan, Tunisia, and Morocco, in addition to lifting the prestigious President's Cup with a perfect score."

Al Sadrani explained that his numerous tournament appearances have effectively contributed to fostering strong competition among players, as well as enabling technical analysis of matches and learning from mistakes — all of which help raise technical standards and sharpen skills for international competition. He praised the efforts of Fujairah Chess and Culture Club in supporting and developing chess and producing a new generation of distinguished players at both local and international levels.

Al Sadrani called for the continued organisation of more high-quality events that contribute to developing the game and discovering and nurturing talents. He also revealed his ambition to achieve the highest title in chess — that of Grandmaster — and to raise the UAE's flag at various world forums.
