American influencer Joshua Kravchenko, who invaded the pitch perimeter during the Belgium vs Senegal match at the 2026 World Cup in Seattle, has revealed he spent 5 hours in detention following the incident, which caused a temporary stoppage in play.

Kravchenko, who has more than 150,000 followers on Instagram, made headlines after attempting with three friends to breach security barriers and reach the pitch. While some members of the group succeeded in entering the playing surface, security personnel stopped Kravchenko before he reached the field and escorted him out of the stadium.

Video footage showed security staff chasing the intruders before subduing them and ending the disruption, which halted the match for several minutes.

Kravchenko later posted a photo of himself being led away by security forces, captioning it: "Straight to jail for 5 hours" — a reference to the time he spent in detention following the incident.

Media reports indicated the group could also face additional penalties, including a lengthy ban from attending FIFA matches and a potential lifetime ban from Lumen Field, though no official announcement has been made so far.

The group were wearing Belgium national team shirts despite being American, and videos they posted before the match showed their excitement about attending the game.

It was also noted that two of them wore shirts bearing advertisements for a betting company, raising questions about the true motive behind the pitch invasion.

Kravchenko is a well-known social media personality who rose to fame years ago on the Vine platform after a video he posted surpassed 42 million views.

In an ironic twist, the intruders missed one of the most thrilling matches of the tournament, as Belgium overturned a 2-goal deficit to claim a dramatic extra-time victory and secure their place in the round of 16, where they will face the United States in a match also to be held in Seattle.
