The Russian-Ukrainian front has witnessed intense mutual military escalation over the past several hours, centred on targeting infrastructure and energy facilities. Ukrainian forces carried out long-range strikes deep inside Russian territory, concurrent with Russian attacks that caused significant casualties and material damage on Ukrainian soil.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that his country's forces carried out precision drone strikes targeting oil infrastructure at the port of St Petersburg, as well as a major military target in the city of Kronstadt.

The governor of Russia's Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, confirmed — according to the TASS news agency — that drone debris fell at the port of Vysotsk, while the Russian Ministry of Defence announced the interception of 389 Ukrainian drones in various parts of the country.

On the other side, intense Russian attacks on the Zaporizhzhia region killed 2 people and wounded 39 others. Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration in Zaporizhzhia, said the area was subjected to more than 1,100 air and artillery strikes targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure.

In a related development, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced airstrikes using Geran-4 and Gerbera drones targeting fuel depots belonging to Ukrainian forces in the Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions, causing severe damage to them.

In terms of overall statistics, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced in a statement that total Russian military losses have risen to approximately 1,408,000 soldiers since the war broke out in February 2022.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian General Staff official confirmed that Russian forces have not taken control of the city of Kostiantynivka in eastern Ukraine, denying the Kremlin's announcement that it had secured full control of the city.
