The Russian-Ukrainian war is witnessing an unprecedented escalation through mutual missile and drone attacks targeting the strategic depth and infrastructure of both countries. The latest wave of intense missile and drone bombardment around the capital Kyiv caused widespread destruction and left dead and wounded, as the aerial confrontation intensifies with mutual strikes targeting energy facilities and vital refineries in both Russia and Ukraine — days before the anticipated NATO summit in Ankara.

Officials in Kyiv said Russia launched ballistic missiles and drones at the Ukrainian capital in an attack that lasted 11 hours and caused extensive damage, with destruction recorded at 30 sites and bodies found beneath the rubble.

At least 17 people were killed and more than 85 wounded in the attacks, including at least one child and a number of healthcare workers, after one of the strikes hit an ambulance depot, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who confirmed 13 deaths.
