The United Arab Emirates announced the success of its mediation efforts between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine in completing a new prisoner exchange involving 160 prisoners from the Russian side and 160 from the Ukrainian side, bringing the total number of prisoners exchanged between the two countries through UAE mediation to 7,791.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the cooperation of both friendly nations in supporting the UAE's mediation efforts in its capacity as a trusted international mediator, and their appreciation for the UAE's commitment to supporting all endeavours aimed at resolving the crisis between the two countries.

The ministry noted that with the success of this mediation, the total number of UAE-brokered exchanges conducted during the crisis has reached 25, stemming from the distinguished relations the UAE maintains with both the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the UAE will continue its efforts to advance various initiatives aimed at reaching a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine and alleviating its humanitarian consequences, including those affecting refugees and prisoners.
