Crimea's governor Sergei Aksyonov reported that two people, including a child, were killed and two others wounded in overnight attacks from Ukraine.
Another person was killed in a Ukrainian forces strike on the Belgorod region, while Ukrainian drone strikes claimed two lives in the border region of Bryansk — a 23-year-old driver and a 15-year-old girl, according to regional authorities.
On the Ukrainian side, the national railway company announced the death of one of its workers after a strike hit a train in the southern Zaporizhzhia region.
On the political front, US President Donald Trump praised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's performance in the war with Russia, amid a recent intensification of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian targets.
Trump told a press conference on Wednesday at the White House that Zelensky was "doing a very good job" in the war, in contrast to a previous statement in which he said the Ukrainian president lacked "the cards to win" in negotiations.
