Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on Saturday evening that Russia is preparing to launch new large-scale attacks, urging citizens to take protective measures.

In a video address to the Ukrainian people, Zelensky referred to strikes that had targeted the cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia hours earlier, saying that Moscow appeared to be preparing further attacks overnight.

Zelensky said: "Please, take good care of yourselves." He added: "The Russians are not stopping the war, even though all the proposals to do so are concrete and realistic."

Zelensky went on to say that Kyiv's proposal for direct talks between Ukraine and Russia, which has the support of Ukraine's Western allies, remains on the table, but noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is refusing to engage in diplomacy.
