Bat kills child 'without a bite or scratch'

A medical article recently published in a specialist journal has confirmed that an 11-year-old boy in the Canadian province of Ontario died after contracting rabies following contact between a bat and his face.

The identity of the child or his family members was not disclosed, as reported by Russia Today.

Those involved confined themselves to clarifying that the boy was admitted to hospital several weeks after the incident, which occurred while the family was spending a holiday at a cabin in northern Ontario.
