The Municipal Affairs Department of Sharjah has launched the 'Sharjah Deserves Better' campaign, which runs until 13 December 2026, to promote the use of eco-friendly alternatives and reduce single-use products.

The campaign comes within the framework of the emirate's efforts to entrench the concepts of environmental sustainability and translate them into daily practices that contribute to the protection of natural resources and the improvement of quality of life. It is being implemented in partnership with the Sharjah Government Media Office, and in cooperation with the municipalities of Sharjah's cities, Bee'ah Group, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, and the Sharjah Private Education Authority.

Sultan Mohammed bin Huwaidin Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Municipal Affairs Department, said: "Sharjah continues, under the directives and vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to launch qualitative initiatives that enhance quality of life and preserve the environment for future generations."

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Municipal Affairs Department in Sharjah, said that the 'Sharjah Deserves Better' campaign represents a comprehensive awareness programme aimed at transforming environmental messages into daily practices in which all members of society participate, stressing that the campaign's success depends on the continuity of awareness efforts and the integration of efforts between government entities, partners, and the community.
