The Fujairah Charity Association has provided medical assistance worth more than 10 million dirhams over the past three years, benefiting 1,537 patients, as part of its efforts to deliver healthcare to the most vulnerable groups and enable them to receive timely treatment.
Yousuf Al Marshoudi, Director General of the Fujairah Charity Association, affirmed that the association continues to fulfil its humanitarian mission by supporting patients and cases requiring urgent medical intervention, thereby helping to alleviate their suffering and enabling them to complete their treatment without the financial burdens that would otherwise impede their access to necessary care.
He explained that the medical assistance provided included covering the costs of urgent surgical operations, supplying medical devices and equipment, dispensing essential medicines, and supporting therapy sessions and medical follow-up for chronic and critical cases, in cooperation with a number of hospitals and healthcare centres both inside and outside the emirate of Fujairah.
He noted that all medical assistance requests are subject to a rigorous review process, beginning with a social assessment and verification of the applicants' living conditions, followed by an evaluation of their treatment needs in coordination with the relevant medical authorities, ensuring that support reaches those who are entitled to it according to clear criteria that uphold fairness and transparency.
Al Marshoudi added that the association, with the support of philanthropists, has been able to assist a number of critical medical cases, including patients requiring cardiac and orthopaedic surgeries, oncology treatment, and dialysis sessions, as well as patients in need of ongoing medication and continuous treatment, contributing to the completion of their treatment programmes and easing the financial burden on them and their families.
