The Dubai Land Department, in cooperation with the Community Development Authority in Dubai, organised the first interactive workshop of the second phase of the 'Barwa' programme — the region's first sustainable social and humanitarian real estate programme of its kind — at the Al Barsha Community Centre. The initiative aims to raise senior citizens' awareness of the real estate services available to them and to facilitate their access to those services in a manner that addresses their needs, supports their independence, and enhances their quality of life.

The workshop is part of a series of interactive sessions being organised by the department during June and July 2026, which will continue through additional sessions at Dhukhr Club in the Al Wasl and Khawaneej areas.

The launch of this phase builds on the successes achieved by the programme since its inception. More than 18,599 clients — comprising senior citizens and people of determination — have benefited from its various services, including 11,293 men and 7,306 women. This reflects the growing demand for real estate services designed specifically for senior citizens and people of determination, and underscores the programme's importance in enabling them to manage their real estate assets with ease and convenience.

The total number of transactions submitted through the department's service centres, registration trustees, and service trustees under the 'Al Barza' and 'Al Karani' initiatives reached approximately 24,844 transactions. The 'Al Kitob' initiative, through the 'Dubai REST' application, recorded 1,895 transactions, while the 'Al Mirsal' initiative received 3,484 calls through its call centre, saw 712 surveys completed, and achieved a high customer happiness rate of 94%.

The second phase of the programme includes a series of interactive introductory sessions held under the slogan 'Barwa… because you are a treasure that deserves the utmost'. The sessions aim to familiarise senior citizens with the programme's services and how to access them. Al Barsha Community Centre hosted the first of these sessions; further sessions will follow on 24 June at Dhukhr Club at Safa Park in the Al Wasl area, concluding on 7 July at Dhukhr Club at the Quranic Park in the Khawaneej area.
