The Emirates Cancer Society has revealed that it provided financial assistance to patients totalling 5 million and 773,000 dirhams, benefiting 1,040 patients from 24 nationalities residing in the country over a period of 12 months spanning 2025 and 2026.
This was announced at the Society's annual forum, held at the Nadwa Culture and Science Hall in Dubai, in the presence of a number of personalities and officials from the health sector, representatives of supporting entities, members of the Society's board of directors, and volunteers.
Sheikh Dr. Salem Mohammed bin Rakkad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Cancer Society, stressed the importance of sustaining community efforts to raise awareness of early cancer detection and embedding this culture with the aim of reducing incidence rates.
He praised the significant efforts made by the wise leadership and the Ministry of Health and Prevention in combating cancer and providing treatment services at the highest levels.
Dr. Adam Mohammed Al Balushi, Executive Director of the Society, noted that the financial assistance provided by the Society benefited 1,040 cancer patients residing in the country. He added that the Society, through all its branches, had organised approximately 600 visits to cancer patients in recent months as part of its moral and psychological support programme.
