Emirates Health Services, represented by its Nursing Department, has organised a training programme titled "Measuring and Evaluating Training Effectiveness" at its Training and Development Centre, in cooperation with the Medical Education Centre at the University of Sharjah.

The programme is part of the institution's ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of health education and develop the competencies of nursing staff across its various healthcare facilities. It targets 54 clinical orientation nurses at the institution's facilities through 2 interactive workshops during June, with the aim of equipping them with advanced knowledge and skills in measuring the impact of educational and training programmes and evaluating their effectiveness in accordance with global best practices.

Dr Sumaya Al Balushi, Director of the Nursing Department at Emirates Health Services, affirmed that organising this programme forms part of efforts to ensure the optimal implementation of the professional development model for nursing and midwifery staff — a model whose intellectual property rights are held by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism. She said this reflects the institution's commitment to developing an advanced clinical education system grounded in scientific methodologies and international standards that contribute to raising the efficiency of nursing staff and midwives and enhancing the quality of patient care.

She noted that investing in the development of clinical orientation nurses' capabilities represents a fundamental pillar in consolidating a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence within the institution's healthcare facilities.

She added that the partnership with the Medical Education Centre at the University of Sharjah reflects the institution's drive to broaden the horizons of academic and knowledge-based cooperation in ways that support the development of human capital in the health sector and promote evidence- and data-based education practices.

The programme focuses on a range of specialised themes to strengthen the skills of clinical orientation nurses, including the design of training programmes and assessment models, the design of evaluation tools, and embedding the concepts of return on investment (ROI) and the financial dimensions associated with health training programmes, as well as data analysis and interpretation of results to support evidence-based decision-making in health education.

The "Measuring and Evaluating Training Effectiveness" programme contributes to standardising clinical education practices across Emirates Health Services facilities and achieving continuous improvement, while also embedding concepts of sustainable professional development and promoting excellence in patient care through effective, data- and measurable-indicator-based training — in line with the institution's goals of building a more efficient and sustainable healthcare system.
