His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, presided over a meeting of the Sharjah Media Council on Tuesday morning.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority. His Highness praised the efforts and achievements of the emirate's media institutions, which contribute to elevating the media landscape and play a major role in conveying Sharjah's image and highlighting its civilisational, developmental, and cultural accomplishments, reflecting a vision and mission grounded in serving people and society.
The Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council stressed the importance of continuing to develop media work and strengthening integration and coordination among the various media institutions, in a manner that keeps pace with the rapid transformations sweeping the media sector, raises content quality, and reinforces Sharjah's standing as a leading model in responsible and purposeful media.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to monitoring media operations and developmental plans aimed at raising the standard of television programmes and enhancing the quality of media content and materials, in line with the rapidly changing dynamics of the media sector and the evolving expectations of audiences.
The council reviewed the Sharjah Media Council portfolio and the strategic and shared performance indicators for Sharjah's media entities for 2026, along with a comparison of annual targets and performance measurement results, as well as shared indicators across entities. The portfolio also covered the performance of media entities in the areas of digital growth, content, and services.
