The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has affirmed that the United Arab Emirates' results in the QS World Future Skills Index 2027 reflect the success of the national approach to developing a higher education system closely aligned with economic development priorities and keeping pace with rapid transformations in the labour market and future skills.

The UAE ranked 17th globally and first in the region, achieving an overall score of 86.5, compared with a ranking of 29th globally in last year's index — an advance of 12 places.

The country also recorded the third-highest score in the world in the Economic Transformation pillar, with a mark approaching 99, underscoring the success of the national system in converting investment in education and human capital into productivity, innovation, and sustainable economic growth through integration between the higher education system and the needs of economic sectors.

His Excellency Dr Abdul Rahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed that the UAE's results in the QS World Future Skills Index represent an international endorsement of the approach the country has adopted in building a higher education system closely linked to national development priorities, contributing to the preparation of competencies equipped with the skills and knowledge required by the economy of the future.
