His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention, and Dr. Abdulaziz Saeed Obaid bin Bati Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority, discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between federal and local health authorities, and to integrate health initiatives and programmes, in support of the United Arab Emirates' drive to build an advanced health system founded on prevention, quality of life, and health sustainability.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, and Amal Al Qatri Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Health Authority. Participants discussed mechanisms for unifying efforts and exchanging expertise among health authorities, with a view to disseminating best health practices across the country.
Dr. Abdulaziz Al Muhairi affirmed that the meeting reviewed the most prominent national health programmes, foremost among them the 'UAE Health' project, which aims to promote the health of citizens and residents, improve their quality of life, and entrench the concept of preventive healthcare.
He explained that the meeting also addressed joint initiatives between health authorities, chief among them the healthy cities programmes in the emirate of Sharjah, led by the 'Sharjah Healthy City' programme accredited by the World Health Organization, in addition to a number of health programmes implemented in accordance with global best practices.
Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, presented the specialised programmes carried out by the department in the field of health promotion and quality of life, which are based on encouraging members of the community to adopt healthy lifestyles.
She also highlighted the utilisation of the latest scientific technologies and global medical applications in prevention, early detection, and disease management, stressing the importance of disseminating these pioneering experiences and benefiting from them across the various emirates of the country, in a way that enhances the integration of the national health system and raises the efficiency of health services provided to the community.
