The Emirates Competitiveness Council has launched the third cohort of the Nafis Leadership Programme, in partnership with the UAE Government Leaders Programme, with the aim of realising the UAE's developmental visions and goals of empowering young people and equipping them with the skills and practical experience needed to lead priority economic sectors and support the country's progress and development.

The third cohort comprises 22 participants and runs for six months, during which participants will acquire advanced leadership skills, gain exposure to the world's best practices, and build a network of relationships with national and international leaders — including an international visit to the Republic of South Korea — to strengthen their leadership and influence skills.

The programme focuses on developing modern leadership skills among young people working in the private sector and encouraging a culture of innovative thinking, with the aim of enabling them to manage teams effectively and enhancing their capacity for strategic decision-making and handling challenges with efficiency and effectiveness. It also promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience, and the execution of innovative graduation research projects that contribute to the development of impactful solutions and ideas.

Ghanem Bati Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Council, affirmed that the launch of this cohort embodies the continuation of a national journey to prepare a new generation of qualified leaders capable of keeping pace with the various transformations taking place around the world.

He noted that the programme continues to evolve with each cohort in line with the country's priorities and the changing needs of the labour market, enhancing the readiness of national talent to be a key partner in shaping the future and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development across vital sectors.

For his part, Mohammed Yousef Al Sharhan, Director of the UAE Government Leaders Programme at the Cabinet Affairs Office in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, affirmed that investing in national talent and equipping it with future skills represents a strategic priority for the UAE government and a key driver of consolidating its future readiness and enhancing its global competitiveness.

He said that the UAE government continues to invest in building human capital that possesses knowledge, skills, and the capacity for innovation and opportunity creation across various sectors, thereby advancing the journey of sustainable development and supporting future foresight.

He added that the UAE Government Leaders Programme has succeeded in establishing a leading national model for preparing and qualifying Emirati talent, and equipping it with practical experience and future-oriented skills that enable it to lead transformation and contribute to the development of priority sectors.

He further noted the programme enhances labour market productivity in alignment with the UAE government's vision of building a competitive and sustainable knowledge economy, led by qualified national talent capable of keeping pace with change and shaping the future with efficiency and excellence.
