Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, witnessed yesterday morning the launch of the digital video library and artificial intelligence engine at the Sharjah Broadcasting and Television Authority, and was briefed on the authority's key achievements and performance in production, content, partnerships, and audience growth.
This took place during a meeting held at the authority's headquarters, attended by Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting and Television Authority, Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting and Television Authority, directors of channels and radio stations, and a number of departmental directors.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, praised the efforts of the staff of the Sharjah Broadcasting and Television Authority, affirming that the authority represents one of the emirate's key media pillars.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, also attended yesterday afternoon the UAE Theatre Day 2026 ceremony organised by the Theatre Practitioners Association under the theme "Pledge and Promise", held at the Palace of Culture in Sharjah. During the ceremony, he honoured the recipients of the UAE Theatre Day 2026 awards, namely artist Eid Al Faraj, artist Saeed Abdulaziz, and artist Taleb Al Souri, commending their efforts and distinguished artistic careers.
The ceremony included a visual presentation celebrating UAE theatre and the pioneering role of Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, whose support, patronage, and vision have contributed to the development of the UAE and Arab theatre movement.
