Under the patronage and in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the activities and programmes of the 'Ahd wa Waad' (Pledge and Promise) Fujairah Forum were launched yesterday, attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Watan Fund.
The forum saw active participation from Sheikh Dr Rashid bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Authority for Culture and Media, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, alongside a broad turnout of social, cultural, academic and economic figures, and representatives of various segments of society including writers, creatives, academics, school and university students, investors, and leaders of government and private institutions.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, affirmed that the 'Ahd wa Waad' initiative is a message of loyalty, pride and belonging that embodies the meaning of love for the nation and the continuation of work to keep the flag of the union flying high.
He also pointed to the supreme values represented by the 'Ahd wa Waad' initiative and its commitment to spreading them among all members and segments of society, expressing the solidarity between the leadership and the people in all circumstances, their unity under the banner of the union, and their adherence to the values of citizenship and belonging.
The Crown Prince of Fujairah affirmed that the emirate of Fujairah is witnessing today an exceptional national initiative conveying the highest principles of national unity, and that under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God preserve him, and the members of the Supreme Council, the Rulers of the Emirates, and with the support of Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, for national community initiatives, the emirate of Fujairah continues to strengthen and spread the values of loyalty and belonging among all segments of society.
He also commended the efforts of the organisers and those overseeing this distinguished initiative, which expresses the meanings of social cohesion and pride in the achievements of the UAE.
In his address, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said that the convening of the 'Ahd wa Waad' forum in Fujairah reflects sincere patriotic sentiments and great enthusiasm for pledging loyalty to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God preserve him, affirming that it embodies pride in the UAE's triumphant journey built on the unity between the leadership and the people, and the entrenchment of the values of loyalty, belonging and national service.
25 figures representing various segments of the local community in Fujairah participated in signing the document, led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Sheikh Dr Rashid bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Authority for Culture and Media, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
