Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, presided over the council's weekly meeting yesterday morning, with Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, in attendance.
The meeting was held at the office of His Highness the Ruler. The council discussed a range of government work matters and examined the general policies of government departments and bodies, with a view to improving the level of services provided to citizens and residents of the emirate.
The council issued a resolution adding persons with disabilities to the beneficiaries of additional social assistance, on the condition that the beneficiary holds a valid disability card issued by the Ministry of Community Empowerment. The council also approved the 'Awn' platform, a government portal for the study of social cases, which is one of the outputs of government service design and development projects under the Sharjah programme for improving customer experience.
The 'Awn' platform is a digital system that enhances digital integration among the competent government departments in Sharjah for studying social and humanitarian cases and requests more swiftly, helping to reduce procedural complexity within an interconnected, human-centred digital ecosystem.
The platform aims to strengthen digital integration by establishing a unified digital system, and to raise the efficiency of government procedures by reducing the time spent processing and studying cases through automation and real-time connectivity.
It also seeks to improve data quality and accuracy by enhancing the reliability of shared data through direct integration with official data sources, and to improve the experience of customers and social researchers by reducing repetitive requests and manual procedures, thereby facilitating the customer journey and raising the efficiency of both fieldwork and administrative work.
