The governments of the United Arab Emirates and the Dominican Republic have announced the launch of new initiatives and projects under the UAE Government Knowledge Exchange Initiative, within the framework of their strategic partnership in government modernisation, to enhance bilateral cooperation in developing and improving the efficiency of government work.
The initiatives include the launch of a One Million AI Prompt Programmers initiative, the establishment of a Government Accelerators Centre for the Dominican Republic's government — inspired by the UAE Government Accelerators model — as well as a capacity-building initiative in the education sector for teachers and students.
They also include the launch of specialised capacity-building programmes in the customs sector, and the development of a customer satisfaction survey platform to improve government services. Forum participants also discussed the launch of a Zero Bureaucracy initiative in the Dominican Republic.
The announcement of the initiatives came as part of the outcomes of the Government Knowledge Exchange Forum organised by the governments of the UAE and the Dominican Republic, aimed at exploring cooperation horizons in strategic sectors and government work, enhancing knowledge exchange, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions that support national priorities and keep pace with the aspirations of future governments.
His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, affirmed that the new initiatives and projects launched within the forum's activities translate the directions for strengthening the strategic partnership with the Dominican Republic's government, which enjoys the follow-up and support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and His Excellency Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic.
He said the strategic partnership between the governments of the two friendly nations represents an advanced model of international cooperation aimed at developing and modernising government work and building a new generation of future governments, stressing both sides' keenness to continue strengthening and expanding areas of cooperation across various fields in a way that achieves a direct positive impact on communities in both countries.
His Excellency José Ignacio Paliza, Minister of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic, affirmed that the progress achieved by the governments of the Dominican Republic and the United Arab Emirates represents the fruit of sustained and cooperative work over the past years, which resulted in the signing of a bilateral strategic cooperation agreement and the implementation of a number of knowledge-exchange visits by Dominican institutions to the UAE to learn about successful experiences in government administration.
Paliza said the partnership between the two countries is witnessing notable development, thanks to the knowledge exchange between the two governments and the Dominican Republic's participation in the World Government Summit held in Dubai, with a delegation headed by President Luis Abinader.
The UAE delegation included Engineer Mohammed bin Taliah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Government Knowledge Exchange, and Khalid Al Harmoudi, Assistant Secretary-General for Cabinet Affairs Support at the Cabinet General Secretariat of the UAE government.
It also included Hamad Saif Al Mahainah, Assistant Undersecretary for the Supporting Services Sector at the Ministry of Education, Mohammed Al Sharhan, Director of the World Government Summit Foundation and Director of the Government Leadership Department at the Prime Minister's Office, and Hisham Amiri, Executive Director of Service Development and Zero Bureaucracy at the Prime Minister's Office.
A number of senior officials from the Dominican Republic's government also participated in the forum's activities.
Engineer Mohammed bin Taliah affirmed that the knowledge partnership between the governments of the UAE and the Dominican Republic embodies the UAE's keenness to expand cooperation horizons with friendly nations in Latin America and the Caribbean, through the exchange of expertise and successful experiences in vital fields, contributing to the building of more efficient, flexible, and future-ready government models.
