The emirate of Fujairah will host tomorrow the third edition of the 'Ahd wa Waad' (Pledge and Promise) forum, under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, as part of Fujairah's support for the national and community initiative 'Ahd wa Waad', which aims to entrench values of belonging, loyalty to the homeland, and allegiance to the leader of its journey, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him.
The forum also seeks to promote community participation from all segments of Fujairah's local society in expressing pride in the achievements of the United Arab Emirates and its leading development journey under the wise leadership of His Highness the President.
The 'Ahd wa Waad' forum in Fujairah will be attended by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Board of Watani Fund, who will deliver the opening address. The forum will also see active participation from Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi and Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, alongside a select group of officials, community, cultural and academic leaders, representatives of government and private institutions in Fujairah, and various segments of society — reflecting the national standing of the forum and its inclusive community objectives.
The forum features a comprehensive programme combining national, cultural, artistic and community elements. It will open with a documentary film presenting the 'Ahd wa Waad' initiative, its objectives, its community mission, and the mechanisms for participation.
The programme will also highlight the significant level of community engagement the initiative has achieved since its launch and its role in strengthening values of belonging and loyalty across all segments of society. This will be followed by a speech from His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, addressing the 'Ahd wa Waad' initiative as a voluntary social and national initiative that carries a symbolic message from UAE society in all its components to the homeland and the leader of its journey, His Highness the President, affirming the values of loyalty, belonging and faithfulness.
The forum also includes a main segment for signing the 'Ahd wa Waad' document on the forum's platform, with the participation of more than 25 figures representing all segments of Fujairah's local community, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi.
Fujairah's hosting of the 'Ahd wa Waad' forum represents an important milestone in the journey of the national initiative, which has succeeded in reaching all segments of UAE society, embodying the highest values of faithfulness and belonging to the UAE and its wise leadership, reflecting the depth of the bond between the leadership and the members of society.
Yasser Al Qarqawi, Director General of Watani Fund, said that the patronage and participation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, alongside the attendance of Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi and Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, embodies Fujairah's commitment to supporting this national initiative, which strengthens identity and entrenches values of loyalty, belonging and community responsibility. It also affirms Fujairah's standing as an active partner in the various national initiatives that serve society and the homeland.
He explained that the Fujairah forum is part of a series of forums organised by the initiative across all emirates of the country, with the aim of broadening the base of community participation in the 'Ahd wa Waad' initiative — an open national platform that enables citizens and residents to participate digitally in expressing feelings of faithfulness, appreciation and pride in the UAE.
The initiative also renews the pledge to continue working and giving in support of the wise leadership, promotes values of peace, tolerance, coexistence and joint action, highlights the UAE's unique model of social cohesion and national unity, and raises awareness of the importance of positive participation in the country's comprehensive development journey.
