Fujairah Municipality has launched the 'Qaydhouna Kullu Khayr 2026' initiative, aimed at supporting and caring for workers during the summer season, as part of its ongoing commitment to providing a safe and healthy working environment suited to the climatic conditions of this time of year.
Engineer Mohammed Saif Al Afkham, Director General of Fujairah Municipality, affirmed that the initiative is an extension of the municipality's concern for field workers, who form a fundamental pillar in the emirate's development and construction journey, stressing that their safety and health represent a top priority.
He said that Fujairah Municipality proceeds from its belief that the worker is a true partner in achieving accomplishments, which necessitates providing the highest levels of protection and support, particularly given the rise in temperatures during summer.
He noted that the initiative includes an integrated package of measures encompassing intensified awareness campaigns to raise workers' understanding of the risks of heat stress and methods of preventing it, as well as providing cold water at various work sites, thereby helping to reduce the health impacts of direct exposure to sunlight.
Al Afkham added that the municipality operates according to best practices in organising working hours during peak periods, in line with the approved decisions and regulations of the state, by scheduling work during morning hours, with a halt during the midday period due to high temperatures, before work resumes in the afternoon.
This is aimed at protecting workers from heat stress and fatigue, and he emphasised that adherence to occupational health and safety procedures is a shared responsibility among all parties.
He pointed out that the efforts are not limited to the preventive aspect, but also include a humanitarian dimension that reflects the values of solidarity and compassion, through direct communication with workers to check on their conditions and listen to their needs, thereby enhancing their quality of life and ensuring a sustainable working environment.
He explained that the 'Qaydhouna Kullu Khayr' initiative represents an integrated model of institutional work that combines professionalism with social responsibility, noting that the municipality will continue to develop qualitative initiatives that enhance health and safety standards and entrench a culture of caring for the human element as the focus and foundation of development.
