Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in People of Determination Inclusion – Dmaj, witnessed the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi announce the names of the winning entities in the award's first edition, which is the first of its kind in the world.

The ceremony was held at ADNEC Abu Dhabi in the presence of His Excellency Shams bin Ali Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi; His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Council; Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education; and Her Excellency Hana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family.

Also in attendance were His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi; His Excellency Mohamed Taj Al Din Ahmed Al Qadi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge; His Excellency Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi; Engineer Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi; and a number of senior officials and representatives of government and private entities and third-sector institutions.

Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan said: "The Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in People of Determination Inclusion – Dmaj embodies the vision of the wise leadership in building and investing in the human being, and in creating an interconnected society that opens opportunities for all and believes that empowering people of determination is an integral part of the journey of sustainable development."

He added that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is advancing steadily towards affirming its standing as a global model in empowering people of determination, guided by an approach that believes providing opportunities and enabling individuals to participate fully in society represents an investment in national capacities capable of contributing to development and shaping the future.

He stressed that the achievements realised in this field reflect Abu Dhabi's government commitment to continuing to develop the policies, practices, services, and initiatives that support people of determination and their families, thereby enhancing quality of life and ensuring an environment that affords everyone the opportunity to grow, succeed, and participate actively in all aspects of life.

Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated the award's winning entities, commending their distinguished efforts and contributions in supporting and empowering people of determination, and the models and practices they have offered that have helped promote inclusion and entrench a culture of excellence in service of the individual and society.

The ceremony saw the announcement of 10 winning entities across 3 main award categories, in recognition of the pioneering institutional policies and practices that have contributed to advancing inclusion, entrenching equal opportunity, and improving the quality of life of people of determination across various sectors.
