The United Arab Emirates participated in the NATO counter-terrorism dialogue, held at the alliance's headquarters in the Belgian capital Brussels on 9 and 10 July 2026, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening international cooperation in countering terrorism and addressing evolving security challenges. The UAE delegation was led by Maqsoud Cruz, the Foreign Minister's Envoy for Countering Extremism and Terrorism, who took part in discussions alongside representatives from NATO and partner countries.
The dialogue focused on enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise on a number of counter-terrorism priorities, including capacity building, resilience enhancement, critical infrastructure protection, maritime security, and countering emerging threats.
During the dialogue, Maqsoud Cruz reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to working closely with international partners to strengthen collective efforts to counter extremism and terrorism, thereby contributing to the consolidation of peace, security, and stability at both the regional and international levels.
