A UAE delegation led by Omar Shahada, the foreign minister's envoy to Caribbean and Pacific states, has concluded an official visit to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, during which it held a number of meetings and discussions covering bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.

During the visit, the delegation met Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Zulfikar Ali, Minister of Public Service.

The meetings addressed a range of topics including digital transformation, modernisation of customs systems, smart management of border crossings, biometric systems, and integrated digital government platforms. The two sides exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation across various fields.

Discussions were also held on a number of upcoming international initiatives, foremost among them the United Nations Water Conference 2026, which the United Arab Emirates is co-hosting in partnership with the Republic of Senegal, alongside an exchange of views on multilateral cooperation.
