Omar Obaid Al Hassān Al Shamsi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received a copy of the credentials of Thaureeq Ibrahim, Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the United Arab Emirates. Al Shamsi wished the ambassador success in carrying out his duties, affirming the UAE's keenness to broaden the horizons of cooperation with the Republic of Maldives in ways that serve the common interests of both countries and their friendly peoples.
For his part, the ambassador praised the regional and international standing enjoyed by the UAE under the wise vision of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God preserve him, expressing his aspiration to work towards strengthening and developing relations between the two countries across various fields.
The two countries share a partnership and bilateral relations that are witnessing continuous growth in numerous sectors, including multilateral climate action, environmental sustainability, tourism, and renewable energy.
